I would like to take a moment to announce my candidacy for the office of Vice President for this organization. I’d also like to take a moment to explain how I can impact the founding era of this organization and help us all succeed in this endeavor.

Born in Houston, my family migrated to the Middle East while I was fairly young. Growing up in Saudi Arabia, I had the privilege of spending my formative years at a school that catered to the international expatriate community. The pleasure of experiencing the diversity at this institution developed a deep understanding of global cultures and languages. Not only did I become well versed in English, but learned the language of my parents, Urdu and also gained a basic understanding of Arabic. Academically, I had the opportunity to spend time learning French. By the time I graduated High School, I had traveled much of the world and befriended individuals of varying ethnicities.

Graduating nearly ten years ago from the University of Texas at Arlington, I’ve had the pleasure of working for a multitude of companies in varying capacities. During the course of my current job (Raytheon), I’ve gained valuable experiences at organizing varying initiatives, chairing committees, and leading large corporate initiatives to completion. I’ve also had the experience of taking projects from just a mere thought and seeing them through.

As I near the completion of my MBA (Dec 2010), and having recently experienced the South Korea/China study trip through UTD, I’d really like to capitalize on this opportunity to give back to the University and this organization. I truly believe this is the beginning of something great here at UTD! We have a great group of people interested in this organization. I look forward to being able to serve this group, as well as UTD at large!

    Thanks!

First of all, I want to thank Dr. Woldu, Angela, and scholars of UTD for building this organization from scratch, I hope and believe this organization will be a giant success!

I was born August 9th 1991, in Hyderabad, India. Living in India for ten years has shaped me to understand the customs and values of Indian culture. Also, gave me an advantage of learning two languages: Telugu and Hindi. During my early childhood, my family moved to Texas. I live in Coppell, Texas for nearly eight years now. America gave me an opportunity to start fresh and opened new doors for me. Even though I recently graduated from Coppell High School, it feels like its been light years ago. Additionally, growing up in two different vicinities has shaped me as an individual, thus I consider myself both as an American and an Indian.

My time at UTD started a year ago. I am an International Business and Biology major. Is truly a unique place to learn education, and to make it relevant to one’s life. So far, I do not have any complains regarding this university, and looking forward to make future.

I traveled to several places around the world, so my favorite trip was to Costa Rica. Last summer, I traveled to Costa Rica on a Medical Business trip. During this trip, we set up free clinics for the rural citizens of Costa Rica. Through out the entire trip, I learned a great deal of knowledge. I have been to India a couple times, but I am looking forward to travel there as a student. I am very thankful to have experienced several different customs, values, and beliefs of many countries.

I do not have much experience with school organization at UTD. However, I would like to change that aspect, and become an active member of our university. I consider myself diverse, and believe I bring a unique personality for our organization. I have developed into a person that is empathetic, innovative, responsible, understanding, and trustworthy. Overall, I believe that I can add value to the association.

Once again thank you for the opportunity!

    Cordially,
    Preethi

Thanks for an initiative for building an organization to bring a global face to UTD MBA program. This is a much needed effort – It is the first step to bring global thought leadership among the student community at UTD.
While building, the new global business management (GBM) organization we must ensure we bring diversity both from culture and business knowledge perspectives when choosing the team members, remember every position in the organization will have to interact internally as well as externally. Vice President / President / Advisor of this organization need to have qualities such as extrovert, thoughtfulness, collaborative and ability to relate to global work culture, which I believe I bring in great depth.
I will be able to add great value to this organization much beyond the expectations both through personal and professional work experience attain till date.
I was born in New Delhi, India. Attended most part of my schooling in India, later on did my under-graduation from University of Westminster, London, UK with one year exchange program with Cyprus University in Mediterranean. Have 12 years of work experience – had an opportunity to work in Sydney, Australia, Singapore, India, Canada, USA with Multi-national enterprises. Have great exposure to functions such as global business management, marketing, product development and customer support. While working for global organizations – I had an opportunity to travel to 18 countries. Above all, have seen my father performing import-export business very closely from my 8 years of age, where he has a established business network in 45 countries. Hosted many global customers at home. I believe my professional qualifications and global experience will bring extra-ordinary value add to GBM organization.
I look at this position truly giving back to the memebers – without any selfish reasons. I plan to connect students to professional network and organize events which will be enhancer to bring global business outlook to the community – which will develop further competitive advantage when members are looking out for a job. Each members should feel proud to say he / she is a member of GBM at UTD.
I am married to Pooja and has a daughter named Gauri. Pooja is an anthropologist; she worked for global non-profit organization CARE in the past – she supports HIV–AIDS and education based program. This brings further diversity in my eco-systems and helps broden my outlook.
Excited to become a part of GBM start-up – assure you to bring a value add into the organization and position it as the best organization at UTD in next one year. Also open to any strategy position…..
